Name:King Mickey
Birthdate:Nov 18

Character: King Mickey
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Version: During the fight with Xemnas
Age: 80 something, He’s been around for a while, he looks good for his age though.
Gender: Male

Appearance:
At the height of 2’ 3”, Mickey is indeed a large mouse. His fur is black, and his ears are large and round. They’re always round actually no matter what direction he’s looking. As for Mickey’s usual outfit, he wears a red and yellow buckled shirt with red shorts to match. He also has big yellow shoes and wears white gloves.

Personality:
King Mickey is a very determined and optimistic mouse, who tries his best to help with the ongoing battle against the powers of darkness. He’s generally a very nice guy and can be a very good ally to have. He is willing to do anything to help out a friend in need. Originally Mickey had an idea that the Darkness, and everything that resided in it, was evil and corrupting, but his encounters, he learns that light and darkness are in balance with each other, and one cannot exist without the other.
While usually always having the better amount of luck, he show the very best of himself with his close friends on his side. For he believes in this, “Helping others always comes before asking others for help”.

Mickey is never one to back down on an enemy, even when his opponent is twice his size. In many situations, Mickey has shown to take on his enemies by surprise to get the better of them. Despite being very heroic however, Mickey usually prefers to stay rather optimistic during harsh times. Although when put in a position where he has let his friends down, he will snap back to reality and be determined to make things right. He has even been able to set aside differences with his foes when he deems it most necessary.

Although Mickey has proven to be heroic and an overall nice guy that stand for goodness and light, he has his vices. There are times when Mickey truly thinks he did not make it through and has given up hope, even doubting himself. Such as the time he thought he lost Goofy or when he took Star Shard and got himself in trouble with Yen Sid.

Often Mickey gets himself into trouble as a result of his mischief and the fact that he can be forgetful and extremely imaginative. He likes to have fun and be adventurous without worry. This can be seen especially throughout Birth By Sleep when he went around exploring other worlds with the star shard.
From experience, Mickey is one of the many characters who believe there is at least a small dose of kindness in everyone's heart resulting in him being rather reliable and resourceful. However, there is a chance one could take advantage of Mickey’s kindness and could be fooled. Not completely, but just enough for him to believe you could be an ally. Especially if he just meets you.
Mickey also stands as a father figure for others like Riku and has tried to look after him when he can. Mickey describes himself as a good sport but on occasion has lost his temper on both enemies and friends. This has been shown when he almost thought Goofy got killed. Overall, Mickey is nice, simple spoken, determined, lighthearted, and a master of the keyblade.

Abilities/Weaponry/Strengths:
The key to Mickey’s stength is his agility and how vast he is. When taking on an enemy he could be quick to hits and jumps. He has remarkable speed, and could often be seen dashing through the air when attacking the enemy with his keyblade. Boy, Mickey sure gives pretty strong hits for a little guy.

The keyblade Mickey wields is called Kingdom Key D, he can summon it, even when he’s disarmed. Only he can wield it. The keyblade came from the realm of darkness and is the counter-part of Sora’s keyblade. One of the main light-wielders in Kingdom Hearts, he’s capable of using powerful light as well as healing magic. He treats his keyblade as both his weapon and use of for controlling his power of light. Much like a “Holy Element” or “Life Power” in a Final Fantasy verse sense.

How powerful is Mickey’s light magic? King Mickey has two light spells he can activate against an enemy, “Pearl” which produces white orbs of light that can shoot light bullets and “Holy” that creates a large burst of light around Mickey and blasts away the enemy with pillars of light, but it take a bit to charge. “Cure” to heal himself and his friends. Once his Drive Gauge is fully charged he can perform “Healing Light” which fully cures HP and MP on a fallen friend.

There is also his limit break, “Pearl Breaker” which allows him to jumps him in the air as he’s shields from enemies, then creates a storm of light around with pillars that spread around the area.

Besides being an awesome Keyblade Master, Mickey’s kindness, optimism and soft spoken can often deceive the enemy to thinking he is to be taken lightly. He’s has an inner core of strength, full of light, and has a strong heart. He can take on people twice to three times his size.

Mickey can also link his abilities with others. Like Riku, who can also perform the Holy Burst and Inverse Burst Sleights with King Mickey, in normal and Dark Mode respectively, in which Mickey hovers and shoots orbs of light from his Keyblade. Mickey also shares a D-Link with Ventus and Aqua, which main focus is HP recovery. The full list of Mickey’s D-Link abilities can be shown here: Sign of Faith

Weaknesses:
Mickey is a two-foot tall mouse, as amazing fighter as he is, over powering him is not hard. If one is fast enough they can catch him, he can be picked up easily and tossed around to give him a good few knocks off his HP. He’s good at fighting back, but he HAS to keep moving, or he can be caught off guard. One could especially catch him off guard if you break one of his light spells while he’s casting it, or block one of his attacks.

Also, most of Mickey’s attacks don’t have a vast area of effect. Which means one could easily dodge his attacks if you can get out of his range. Because of this, you can be sure to knock him with a few good punches, if you can get around him, or if he can’t see you.

Mickey’s optimistic and kind to a fault, almost to the point of foolishness. If one could trick him into thinking that they’re kind and friendly, then they can do some real trickery and damage behind his back. Not that he is completely foolish, but he’s not all knowing. He can be tricked if one is clever enough.

The one thing you could do to keep Mickey in his place is if you do something horrid with his friends, such as if they were being tortured or otherwise. At that point he will do anything to help them. And will stop at nothing till he can help them. Because of that he can jump in without thinking sometimes to try and stop the enemy if he knows they’re about do something terrible. In times of hesitation and panic, his rash decisions could cost him dearly.

History:
In the beginning, Mickey worked as a deck hand long side his captain, Pete. He and Pete sailed on the steamboat Willie throughout Timeless River. Through out here, he went on many adventures with his friends. Pete does refer to Mickey as "the Boat-Boy King", because of their little past association.

Later in Birth By Sleep, Mickey becomes a King with Queen Minnie in Disney Town. Which he soon leaves to undergo the Mark of Mastery Exam under the supervision of Yen Sid at the Mysterious Tower, accompanied by Donald and Goofy. By which he uses the Star Seeker Keyblade to complete his training. Later on, Mickey runs away without Yen Sid’s permission, after learning the worlds were in trouble. Using a Star Shard that allows him to travel throughout other worlds, but the item works rather randomly as Mickey has not learned how to control it. Which then teleports him to the Keyblade Graveyard.

There Mickey discovers it brought him there to save Ventus after he had a fight with Vanitas before being teleported again to Radiant Garden. He later teams up with Aqua (after Ven attempted to get inside the Radiant Garden castle), rescuing a young Kairi from the enemy's attempt to capture her. When the battle ends, he tells Aqua to not worry about him as he’s then whisked away to Neverland.

While exploring Neverland, Mickey gets knocked out by Vanitas, who intended to take him back to the Keyblade Graveyard. Ven goes to try and help Mickey when he finds out about it, only to both get sucked into a vortex. Mickey is left stranded in space before Aqua finds him and takes him back to the Mysterious Tower.

Mickey then helps Aqua battle Ventus, who is possessed by Vanitas, and eventually guides them to the Mysterious Tower, where they discover that Ventus' heart has left his body. But after Yen Sid explains his heart is suspended between light and darkness. That he just has to find his way back to the light, and he needs his friends to believe in him. Mickey doesn’t give up hope that Ven will find his way home. That Ven has three lights to help guide him back, Terra, Aqua, and Mickey.

Later on, Mickey sorrowfully hands in the Star Shard and his Star Seeker Keyblade, thinking he has failed to reach his goal and disappointed his master, and begins to leave. But, before he departs, Master Yen Sid hands him back the Keyblade with a smile, showing him that he is indeed worthy of the title of Keyblade Master. King Mickey then happily accepts it.

Years later, upon realizing the threat that the darkness presents, Mickey sought out help for his concerns and the expected danger. By using the barrier's material itself to make a Gummi Ship, Mickey travels to Radiant Garden and meets Ansem the Wise. Mickey befriended Ansem, and tells Ansem of his concern of the growing darkness between the worlds. It was also here that Mickey meets Xehanort for the first time, though he forgets his name some time after.

Kingdom Hearts then starts with King Mickey having left Disney Town to embark on a mission to uncover the source of the crisis. Mickey leaves a message with Pluto that instructs Donald and Goofy to "find the Key". After the two found Sora and proceed to search for their King, who had already passed the Corridor of Darkness at Traverse Town and found the Dark Realm's Keyblade.

Within the Realm of Darkness, Mickey meets Riku after being forced out of his body by Xehanort's Heartless, explaining to him how the Door to Darkness functions and that they must close it to keep the Heartless coming out and invading the Realm of Light. Near the end, Mickey helps Sora to seal Kingdom Hearts to prevent the Heartless from escaping it and thanks Donald and Goofy for following his orders. It was the choice of Mickey and Riku to stay behind in the Realm of Darkness that started Sora, Donald, and Goofy on their quest.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy initially enter Castle Oblivion believing the King to be there, but that is not the case until Riku appears in the basement of the castle. Mickey, on the other hand, was originally unable to fully phase back into the Realm of Light and appeared as an orb of light to help Riku battle his inner darkness as his light. Eventually, Mickey regains physical form prior to meeting DiZ, having a feeling that they met before while given a Black Coat to stay under the Organization's radar.

Right before Riku goes on to face Xehanort's Heartless, he tries to make Mickey promise to destroy him if Ansem conquers him. However, Mickey dismisses it and promises to break through to his power and save Riku. Riku wins the battle, but Ansem tries to trap him into darkness and Mickey takes him back to the light. Through this experience, Mickey forms a similar friendship with Riku as Donald and Goofy with Sora. Riku even calls him by his name "Mickey" from this point forward. After leaving the Castle, the King and Riku eventually part ways.

Much later, King Mickey appears in the Twilight Town woods facing Riku, who has taken on the form of Xehanort's Heartless. Mickey readies to attack as Riku calmly ties his blindfold into place, and looks shocked at Riku changing appearance. Then they make a promise not to tell Sora what happened to him when he wakes up.

In Kingdom Hearts II, sometime after Riku left DiZ's employ, he encounters Mickey and gives him the Munny Pouch that he had stolen from Roxas in the Simulated Twilight Town. Not wanting Sora and Kairi to know about his condition, Riku pleads with Mickey not to reveal his whereabouts or his condition to Sora, and Mickey reluctantly agrees.

Mickey later arrives to help Sora fend off the Nobodies that attacked them in Twilight Town posing as somewhat of a fake Organization XIII member. After the battle, he hands Sora the pouch of munny Riku gave him and instructs him to visit his mentor, Yen Sid, running off afterward. Yen Sid reveals that Mickey's reasons for leaving Disney Castle was to investigate the mysterious outbreak of Heartless and the more mysterious Organization.

At Hollow Bastion, Mickey reveals the truth about "Ansem" though have forgotten his true name, but is reluctant to reveal any information on Riku. He then aides the group in fending off the Heartless that Maleficent has summoned to destroy Radiant Garden.

Initially, Mickey gives orders to Sora, Donald, and Goofy to leave Hollow Bastion and leave the Heartless to his own group. But Donald and Goofy go against his orders when they realize how desperate Sora is to help Leon. He later confronts them after they defeat Demyx, at first appearing angry that they disobeyed orders, but soon simply decides to allow them to help.

When Goofy apparently “dies” after taking a nasty blow to the head, from a boulder dislodged by the Heartless, while saving Mickey from the same fate, Mickey shows a rare bout of anger discarding his Black Coat and charges into battle. Followed by a furious Donald who squawks in anger, and they are all relieved to discover that Goofy was only unconscious later. When Mickey and Sora confront Xemnas, he then remembers Xehanort's name, Mickey jumps after Xemnas into a corridor of darkness before it closed, thus preventing Sora, Donald, and Goofy from going after him, but since he appears later in Twilight Town, it is apparent that he could not follow Xemnas all the way.

Sora and the others meet him in Twilight Town, where they find a way into The World That Never Was through the Simulated Twilight Town DiZ had created. When they enter the world, Mickey goes ahead of Sora to look for Ansem the Wise. He eventually finds him, and rescues him from death. Ansem then attempts to use his machine to convert Kingdom Hearts into data, but was unsuccessful and vanishes when the machine explodes.

Mickey then confronts Xemnas with Sora, Riku, Kairi, Donald and Goofy, and watches as Xemnas opens Kingdom Hearts. Xemnas then blocks out King Mickey and Kairi from participating in the final fight, first by launching a building at him and Kairi, closing Kingdom Hearts, and then closing the dark portal to the Destiny Islands, preventing Mickey, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy from returning to aid Sora and Riku. Once Mickey turned around to try and find away to Riku and Sora, he finds himself lost in another world, another side. Paixao.
